Residencies
Residencies allow students to, over a sustained period of time, explore a specific theme or area of interest such as – but not limited to – dance, stage combat, clowning, puppetry, design, prop building, playwriting or stage carpentry. These are delivered by a YPT Resident Artist Educator or by another professional with particular expertise in the chosen discipline or theme. Residency workshops take place consistently over a number of weeks or months and are often responsive to particular requests from teachers or principals. Sometimes they are designed to work toward a particular goal such as a final performance. As with all of our workshops, residencies are comprised of active, hands-on sessions. Residency workshops can take place either at YPT or at the participating school.
