Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators

The Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators program is a third party recommender program funded and operated by the Ontario Arts Council (OAC). The goal of the program is to assist Ontario-based professional theatre creators, and informal collectives of creators, by funding them to create work. Applications are made to, and funding decisions are made by, recommender theatre companies selected by the OAC. Young People’s Theatre (YPT) is proud to be one of the recommender companies and the information that follows is for creators interested in applying to YPT for funding.

In this capacity, YPT is focused on providing support to artists who are creating work for young audiences. We are also interested in supporting artists from a diverse range of cultural communities. The list of our past recommendations can be found here.

Applications for 2024.25 are now open.  The deadline to apply is November 29, 2024 at 1PM.
