CONNECTING TO THE LIVES OF TODAY’S YOUNG PEOPLE

For more than 50 years, YPT’s New Play Development Program has been doing just that – bringing new stories, for and about young people, to life. From page to stage, the program has fostered 39 world premieres over the last two decades.

YPT’s approach to new play development is unique among Canada’s TYA companies, with a full-time Dramaturg, Associate Artistic Director & Literary Manager Stephen Colella, to guide the process. Beginning with Exploration, the program provides artists with resources to investigate new stories and ideas. This is followed by Commission – our commitment to producing and presenting the work.
