Lisa Davenport

Lisa is a passionate artist educator, teacher and theatre scholar. She graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Drama and a Bachelor of Education with a concentration in Artist in Community Education. Lisa is an Ontario College of Teachers certified educator and pursued her MA in Applied Theatre and Drama in Community Education at the Royal Central School of Speech in London, England.

She has taught in traditional classrooms, facilitated creative play in community spaces, and loves spending her summers as a camp counsellor. Her artist educator journey has allowed her to cross paths with many organizations such as the Almeida Theatre, Half Moon Theatre, Tightrope Impro Theatre, and the Canadian Improv Games.

Lisa is currently a PhD Student with the Centre for Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies at the University of Toronto where she is pursuing her research interests in the transformative potential of the drama classroom. She has worked with people of all ages to foster creativity, encourage curiosity, and form strong bonds between one another and is so excited to be working with the families and friends of YPT.
