Pre-Show Member School Workshop

Throughout the season, YPT offers hour-long pre- and post-show Companion Workshops in connection with our productions, in which students engage with the specific themes and ideas of a particular show while developing specialized drama skills. On February 4, YPT’s pre-show member school workshop is focused on Red Sky Performance’s Mistatim, which can be seen on our Mainstage Feb. 9-19.

In this moving coming-of-age story, two young neighbours discover they live in worlds that are very far apart. Then Mistatim – the Cree word for horse – brings them together to form the truest of friendships. Internationally renowned for its artistry and innovation, Red Sky is one of Canada’s leading companies of Indigenous performance in dance, theatre and music.

Member Schools

YPT’s Member Schools program aims to create a deeper relationship between participating schools and the theatre. YPT works with school leadership to create a three-year partnership agreement specifically tailored to the aims and needs of that particular school. Each partnership is different but all include increased attendance at the theatre, enrichment for students and teachers, as well as research with and by the participating school’s students and staff. We provide Member Schools with a special rate for tickets and enrichment programming, thus allowing them to take full advantage of the many opportunities we offer.
