Three Up

Young People’s Theatre (YPT), Britain’s Action Transport Theatre (ATT) and the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) are thrilled to partner together on Three Up, a new international program for young writers aged 13-17. Four young people from the GTA with a passion for writing and interest in building their skills have been selected to be part of this five-month international collaboration. The Three Up program provides the opportunity for youth to reach beyond their own borders to build community with peers from the UK and Australia while working with professional, local, and international playwrights and facilitators.

In-person meetings will occur twice a month with the YPT facilitators and the four Canadian participants in attendance. The purpose of these meetings is to provide instruction on playwriting, to discuss the ongoing collaborative work with their international partners, to monitor progress and to share completed works. The five-month training program will culminate with the writers collaboratively creating a script with a counterpart from each of the other participating countries.

Meeting Dates:
Wednesdays meetings (6pm to 8pm) will occur on the following dates:

January – Jan 6, 2016 and Jan 27, 2016
February – Feb 10, 2016 and Feb 24, 2016
March – Mar 9, 2016 and Mar 30, 2016
April – April 13, 2016 and April 27, 2016
May/June – May 11, 2016 and June 1, 2016
