Cultural Gym: Secrets of Scenic Painting
During Cultural Gym: Secrets of Scenic Painting, YPT Resident Scenic Painter Mattea Kennedy will lead a series of classes on traditional techniques frequently used in scenic painting. Participants will learn the step-by-step process of how to beautifully transform any object into wood, marble or stone, using only paint and the secrets of scenic art!
Dates:
Wed, Apr 20th – 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Wed, Apr 27th – 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Wed, May 4th – 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Wed, May 11th – 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Participants:
We welcome children and adults to attend the program. This program is recommended for ages 12 and up.
Registration:
The cost of each class is $5. Space is limited. Pre-registration is recommended. To register please contact Amber Ebert, School & Community Programs Manager at aebert@youngpeoplestheatre.org by 12:00 Noon on the date you would like to attend.
Materials:
All participants are responsible to bring the following to each class:
– a wooden object (i.e. a little wooden box, a picture frame, a bird house) or artist canvas to paint. YPT can supply a canvas for an additional fee of $5.
– an old shirt or apron to wear!
