SUMMARY:Jacob Two-Two Family Drama Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Sunday\, December 6th for a Jacob Two-Two Family Drama Workshop\, led by Resident Artist Educators Rob Kempson and Britta Johnson (Britta is also the Jacob Two-Two co-Composer and Lyricist). \nDuring this pre-show workshop\, participants will learn about the story and music of Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang and also work together to write songs of their very own! \nDetails:\nSpace is limited. Pre-registration is required. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. \nAbout Rob Kempson:\nRob Kempson is a theatre artist and educator\, working as a playwright\, composer\, performer\, and director. Rob was most recently seen starring in his Dora-nominated musical The Way Back To Thursday (Theatre Passe Muraille). As an artist-educator\, Rob has worked for a number of major school boards as well as Young People’s Theatre\, Canadian Stage\, Theatre Passe Muraille\, Pleiades Theatre\, Opera Atelier and Casa Loma. He works regularly as a community arts facilitator and curator\, collectively creating performances and interactive exhibits with community members. He is currently the Associate Artistic Director at the Thousand Islands Playhouse in Gananoque\, ON. \nAbout Britta Johnson:\nBritta Johnson is an emerging composer\, lyricist\, music director and performer. Most recently\, she was co-composer/lyricist for Brantwood (Sheridan College/Outside the March; Dora Mavor Moore Audience Choice Award 2015)\, Music Director for Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play (Outside the March) and premiered the role of Margaret Cunningham in Living in the Space (Globe Theatre\, Regina). Britta has written 5 full-length musicals including Big Box Story (Stratford Festival gala performance)\, Alligator Tears (commissioned by the Blyth Festival)\, and Life After (Paprika Festival). She was recently named playwright in Residence with Acting Up Stage Company. She has spent a season at the Stratford Festival as a music assistant and has had her work showcased at the Shaw Festival’s Lyric Canada conference.
