Three Up

International Youth Playwriting Program

Three Up is a youth writing program facilitated by YPT, Action Transport Theatre in Manchester, England and Fearless Invention Theatre in Sydney, Australia. The program provides the opportunity for youth ages 13-18 to reach beyond their own borders to build community with peers from the UK and Australia while working with professional, local and international playwrights and facilitators. The writers will work collectively to create a one act play that will be read at the completion of the process.

The writing sessions will all occur online during spring 2023 over nine weeks. Six sessions are with the Canadian writers and three are with all international collaborators.    

Three Up session
Our Spring 2021 session of Three Up culminated in a staged reading of the writers’ scripts, featuring performances from student actors from York University.
