Afiwi Roots & Revival Program, from Afiwi Groove School in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross

YPT is pleased to partner with Afiwi Groove School to offer participants FREE registration to their new virtual dance program, Roots & Revival. This program focuses on African dance and drumming to empower, educate, and inspire Black youth while providing safe access during COVID-19 restrictions.

Roots & Revival is a wonderful opportunity for youth to connect to their roots and identity through African dance and djembe drumming. It offers a creative outlet, physical activity, and mental wellness that comes with feeling connected to one’s community and peers.

Afiwi Roots & Revival’s online introductory dance program runs for eight weeks through October until November 25th, with classes in Afro Beats, Traditional West African Ghanaian Dance, Traditional West African Malinke Dance and Afro Caribbean Dance. Each class is drop-in style, so you can choose to register for one or register for them all!

Mondays and Wednesdays:
5:30PM –6:15PM (age 11 and under)
6:30PM –7:15PM (age 12+)

YPT has partnered with Afiwi to offer participants free registration to the program.
