Erica May-Wood

Erica May-Wood is a professional actor, theatre maker and artist educator. In addition to being on the teaching faculty of Young People’s Theatre, she has worked extensively with Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, Centauri Arts, Royal Conservatory’s Learning Through the Arts and has taught workshops for the National Ballet of Canada School, Crow’s Theatre and Autism Home Base; she has worked in schools, community settings, professional theatres, training facilities and health care environments, with participants aged 6 months to 60 plus years, including with folks living with disability.

As a theatre maker, she has directed collective creations such as: the Teen Creation Collectives appearing in Hamilton Fringe, online collective creations (including a global participatory arts project during the pandemic), immersive, site-specific works for the Toronto Fringe Festival and beyond, and a play led by disabled artists working to break down the stigma around disability.

As an actor, she has appeared on stages across the province in plays for kids and adults alike. Her more recent film and tv credits include a holiday movie with Vanessa Hudgens and Chucky (eek!).
